Why this is so important to

There are many differences between Piston Engines and Electric Motors. These differences are so fundamental to their overall performance that Piston Engines will never be able to keep up. Although massive amounts of horsepower can be derived from piston engines, the ability to control this power happens over a very narrow speed range, thus creating the need for large transmission and clutch system; which usually doubles the weight and reduces power transfer considerably.
DC Electric Motors have Full Torque at Zero Speed; -Full Power at Zero RPM's.
This fundamental aspect of Electric Motors will always overshadow Piston Engines. This feature will provide the Future Spark Electric Racing Car with a faster jump off the starting line without clutching errors. This will also provide a stronger, smoother acceleration to top speed without gear shifting delays. An Electric Motor does not need a transmission or clutch; period. This is the first reason Electric Cars will win on Race Day. If you doubt this, keep in mind that every train you have seen for the last 50 years, whether freight or subway, has always been driven by Electric Motors, --precisely for this reason.
Electric Motors are over 90% efficient in Power Transfer from the Battery Source.In contrast, Internal Combustion Engines are limited by the Laws of Thermo-Dynamics to about 30% fuel efficiency. This means that roughly two-thirds of every gallon of gas burnt is lost as Waste Heat with rise in temperatures as high as 1500 degrees, -enough to melt silver. This is the real underlying factor in Global Warming. Not only are we producing a blanket of CO2 in our upper atmosphere, but we are also warming it up with roughly 20 trillion barrels of pure heat burnt so far! Yes, now that is enough to change our climate here on Earth.
Electric Motors have about 10% or less of waste heat with temperatures only around 125 degrees C, just enough to boil water. And with the use of Solar Power to charge Batteries, Electric Cars not only reduce CO2 Emissions to zero; they actually reduce direct heating in the atmosphere by seven times over Piston Engines.

Engines have
hundreds of moving parts; from the valves, cam shafts, cranks, and
connecting
rods to the support systems of water pumps, alternators, timing belts,
distributors, and fuel injectors, not to mention the transmission,
clutch and
differential. All these parts need lubrication to survive. The Electric
Motor
has only one moving part, dramatically increasing reliability,
providing a much
longer service life, and never requiring a single oil change, -again,
furthering the clean-up of our Planet over time.
